Toronto Boat Show – Something For Every Boater!


The Toronto International Boat Show – North America’s largest indoor boat show – returns to the Enercare Centre in Toronto from January 17-26, 2020. With more than 550 exhibitors offering every product to get-out-on-the-water; an impressive display of 1,200 new boats with engines and trailers, educational seminars, and lifestyle programming – it’s the place to be in January.

Women’s Day at TIBS

Women’s Day returns Sunday, January 19.  There’s expanded programming in 2020 including more hands-on learning and networking opportunities.

New this year is keynote Tammy The Queen of Speed Wolf. She is among the top competitors in North America and is one of the most successful females in the history of tunnel boat racing. In 2012, she became the first woman and Canadian to compete at the 24 Heure de Rouen (24 hours of Rouen) in France and made history in 2018 as the only woman to podium at an IOGP Formula 1 Champion boat event.

Gallagher Skippers’ Plan boat insurance specialist Petra Fischer will be a participating in the Lunch & Learn Panel Discussion where the audience is free to ask any questions on boating!  Other panelists include seasoned boating veterans, SAMS® Accredited Marine Surveyor® Nicole McLoughlin and Certified Marine Manager Robin McKeown. It’s sure to be a lively discussion.

Last year, more than 100 women registered for the inaugural event. Women’s Day is a separately ticketed event; pre-registration is required.

Cooper’s Treasure

Meet undersea explorers Darrell Miklos and Jim Sinclair, stars of the Discovery Channel hit series, Cooper’s Treasure. Considered one of NASA’s original space pioneers, astronaut Gordon Cooper discovered something extraordinary on a 1963 mission – he photographed dark patches he believed to be sunken ships and began creating secret maps that could uncover treasures worth billions of dollars. Before passing away, he shared his meticulous research with long-time friend Miklos who, together with Sinclair and a crew of seasoned explorers, are making good on Gordon’s dream, and documenting their adventure. Special appearances on January 17, 18 and 19.

Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel

Fans around the world go ‘nuts’ for Twiggy, the world-famous water-skiing squirrel, who not only entertains with her special talent but is also an advocate for water safety. Twiggy took a brief break after 40 years of performing across North America, appearing in movies and music videos, and becoming an internet sensation. Twiggy returns the 2020 Toronto Boat Show by popular demand.

300+ FREE Seminars

The Toronto Boat Show offers probably one of the most comprehensive line ups of education and free daily seminars, and Gallagher Skippers’ Plan is proud to once again participate in the New Boater Seminars. Senior Vice President Andrew Robertson will be a panelist with Boating Buying Basics: How To Buy Your First Boat along with John Gullick of the CPS, yacht broker Pat Sturgeon and marine surveyor Barry Goodyear. A favourite among novice boaters, it’s been a regular feature at the Toronto Boat Show for over 15 years.

Preview Day Experience

A special ticketed event offering visitors a first look and advance access to shop the show while supporting the Toronto Boat Show’s boating charities. Preview Day has raised more than $865,000 to-date and has become the annual off-season social gathering event among the boating community for more than 20 years. (Friday, January 17, 2pm – 8pm)

2nd Annual Toronto Indoor Wakeboard Championships and Winter

Professional and amateur wakeboarders from around the world will converge at the Toronto Boat Show to compete at the Indoor Wakeboard Championships for cash prizes. This world-class WWA sanctioned event takes place on closing weekend of the show with qualifiers on Friday, January 24 and finals on Saturday, January 25.

All-new themes this year include Winter Wakefest Goes Country and the Mad Scientist Water Ski Show. Plus, catch daily action on The Lake with a variety of shows packed with flips, costumes, music and entertainment.
