Did you know that Skippers’ Plan Insurance is one of the longest standing exhibitors at the Toronto International Boat Show? Some may be surprised to learn that we have been attending the Toronto Boat Show as an exhibitor for over 50 consecutive years.
Manufacturers and dealers have come and gone and a few have even had several reincarnations but very few brands or businesses have stood the test of time like Skippers’ Plan. Boat designs and construction have changed considerably during that time and we have had to change with the times too. What have remained consistent during those 50 years are the values we embrace and the personal customer service we provided to boaters as their trusted insurance professional. Boating is more than just a business to us. We live the boating lifestyle and share the passion of boating with our clients. This is why our advertising states “We Share your Passion.”
There are many highlights and milestones in a half century of exhibiting at the Boat Show. This year we added another significant milestone as Skippers’ Plan became part of leading international insurance brokerage Arthur J Gallagher & Co. From humble beginnings as a small, family owned insurance agency founded by my grandfather, Bill Robertson, we are now part of the third largest global insurance network with over 20,000 employees serving clients in 140 countries. The Skippers’ Plan brand is stronger than ever and positioned to be the choice of Canadian boaters for the next 50 years and beyond. The Toronto Boat Show marks the unofficial start of the boating season in Ontario. We welcome each new boating season by meeting with our clients and new boaters at the Boat Show.
